“Hammock”

Production: K-zone | 30 min | Color | 16:9 | 2K | 5.1ch

Synopsis:
After the death of her father Kentaro, six-year-old Kanae has been lovingly raised by her grandmother Kaoru (73). On Obon, her mother Momoko (39) returns to Japan with her American partner Adam (50) and his son Joseph (10). Momoko is delighted to reunite with Kanae and suggests moving to America to live together, but Kanae firmly refuses and shuts her heart. Adam tries everything to ease Kanae’s heart, and gradually she regains her smile, making that evening dinner full of laughter. However, Momoko wears a somber expression, burdened with what she must tell Kaoru: her decision to move to America with Kanae, and showing Kaoru the camera and passport that belonged to Kentaro. Adam urges Momoko to face it, no matter how painful. The next day, at the sea, Momoko recounts a mysterious vision she witnessed at Abraham’s grave.
